FLAME DETECTION SENSORS & SYSTEMS
OmniguardŽ ... First in Flame Detection
The value of early fire detection is immeasurable in the protection of human life and valuable property. OmniguardŽ flame detectors are known throughout the world for their outstanding quality and reliability in a wide variety of high risk fire protection applications.
Discrimination between a true fire and a "false alarm" event is also critical for efficient and cost effective protection management. That is why OmniguardŽ flame detectors are widely used in aircraft hangars, fuel transfer stations, natural gas compressor stations, and petrochemical storage facilities.
Vibro-Meter, Inc. manufactures several families of optical sensing devices. Over 75 years of optical sensing experience and expertise has allowed us to pioneer many new technologies that have set the standards for the industry.
Using UV or IR sensors, or a combination of both, we are able to sense and notify the user of various conditions and parameters of flame.
Our OmniguardŽ line of UV and UV/IR flame detectors (Models 660, 760, 860, and 860 Multi-Spectrum) are used to notify when a potentially dangerous fire (an "unfriendly fire") has started. All detectors are explosion-proof devices, and are certified for use in hazardous area applications. Vibro-Meter, Inc. pioneered both the first UV and the first UV/IR detectors, and continue to lead the industry with superior performance, features, and quality
All OmniguardŽ Detectors provide:
five year warranty on the UV and IR sensors used in our flame detectors
three year total warranty against component or manufacturing defects
design, engineering, and manufacture exclusively by Vibro-Meter, Inc.
We recently introduced our new Fuel Contamination DetectorTM (Model 970), which is based on IR sensors. This new detector is able to both monitor the presence of flame, and also identify and quantify the presence of contaminates in the fuel being burned. This is especially important to turbine manufacturers and users.
The Omniguard Model 760 is the most advanced multi-spectrum IR5 flame detector in today's market. In a breakthrough technological advance, the Model 760 senses infrared radiation in five discreet infrared wavelengths for early fire detection for maximum protection of people, machinery, and facilities. The Model 760 also features Vibro-Meter's patented Fire Event Analysis algorithm, enabling high speed response and superior false alarm immunity.
Robust, explosion-proof construction certified for hazardous locations.
FM, CSA, and ATEX approved.
NEMA 4X weatherproof, dust-tight, watertight (IP66).
Advanced built-in automatic diagnostics with through the lens clarity checking and output device monitoring.
Enhanced detection range capability with user selectable sensitivity and time delay setting.
The Omniguard Model 760 Infrared Flame Detector utilizes a state-of-the-art microprocessor incorporating our patented Fire Event Analysis. With Fire Event Analysis, the Model 760 is capable of offering superior high speed flame detection without compromise to false alarm immunity. The Model 760 flame detector has been approved for indoor and outdoor use inhazardous areas and is weather proof in both its aluminum or optional stainless steel housing. Its built-in self test feature not only monitors lens clarity, but also screens the electronic circuit function, proper calibration, and output relay continuity.
As with all Omniguard flame detectors, the Model 760 is both easy and economical to install. The self-contained concept means no costly controller and no complicated wiring. Installation requires 24 Vdc, and connection of the detector's form C relays to a commercially available fire control panel.
The Omniguard Model 760 is capable of detecting various hydrocarbon fuel fires such as aviation fuel, various solvents, methane, propane, crude oil, and many others. The Model 760 also provides detection for hydrogen fires. Consult Vibro-Meter's application engineers for assistance with your project.
